Choco-Story New York: The Chocolate Museum and Experience with Jacques Torres
Mar 13, 2017
Introducing Manhattan’s first ever chocolate museum and experience with Jacques Torres! Here, visitors will discover the story of chocolate and its journey from tree to bar through original artifacts, nine premium tastings, kids’ corner and a bon bon making class, offering an educational – and delicious – hands-on experience for families, children, and chocolate lovers. For this venture, Jacques partnered with Eddy Van Belle, chocolate aficionado and founder of four other Choco-Story museums around the world, from Belgium to Uxmal. Choco-Story New York traces the history of cacao and chocolate by telling the story of its origin and evolution through authentic artifacts.
The 5,000-square-foot museum includes nine premium chocolate tastings consisting of blend and single origin chocolates in white, milk and dark varieties, original Mayan hot chocolate freshly ground by hand, and hand- made chocolate truffles. In addition to the museum tour tastings, taught by a professional chocolatier, customers may participate in a chocolate making class where they will be able to sample their own handiwork.
The museum also features a kids’ corner, a fun, educational space where children can dig for “undiscovered artifacts” in a sand pit and play chocolate shop proprietor with a toy kitchen and cash register.
Choco-Story New York is located at 350 Hudson Street, New York, NY 10014 and is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00am – 5:00pm.
